Dan worked in education for 12 years before joining Yorkshire Sport Foundation in 2014. After several teaching roles he led a School Sports Partnership in London before becoming a local authority Curriculum Consultant.
In his current role, Dan leads the Development Team which includes our communities, children and young people, workforce, clubs and NGBs work, as well as looking for new opportunities for funding and further development of the organisation, including its continuous improvement strategy.
Dan has been instrumental in bringing together partners from different sectors to develop the Creating Active Schools (CAS) Framework, which emphasises the importance of putting physical activity at the heart of school strategy. CAS is now changing behaviours in local authorities, multi academy trusts, LDPs and hundreds of schools across England.
Outside of YSF, Dan is the Chair of Governors at a large Academy in North Yorkshire and a Trustee for the communities charity Groundwork.
